Me @ Directions EMEA 2023

In a bit more than a month Directions EMEA 2023 Conference will start in Lyon. It will be as usual an interesting 3 days in which to meet Microsot Dynamics partners from all over the Europe and share experiences and knowledge (and obviousy make networking).

I will be at the conference with the following 3 sessions:

Creating high performance low-code workflows for Business Central: what’s new in Azure Logic Apps

One of the common requirements in Dynamics 365 Business Central projects is to efficiently handle integrations between systems, to handle complex processing of documents or complex message orchestrations and to overcome the operation limits of Business Central APIs. Low-code approaches for creating such workflows are often one of the first technical choices for Business Central partners. But partners that start in the wrong way (for example abusing of Power Automate!) quite immediately run into a variety of problems such as poor performances, scalability, and unsatisfactory throughput for handling their processes. How to solve these common problems?
Azure Logic Apps provide a way to simplify and implement scalable integrations and workflows in the cloud. In this session we’ll go in depth into the new Azure Logic Apps Standard platform and we’ll see how to use a set of new features (currently in preview) for creating high performance low-code workflows for Dynamics 365 Business Central. We’ll see how we can use Visual Studio Code for designing our stateless and stateful workflows, how to inject custom .NET code in actions where performances are poor, how to efficiently handle large batch data processing and how to design workflows for high throughput.
This session will change the way you will design your Business Central future integrations! It will show you lots of new and upcoming features and it will provide tips and real-world scenarios for creating workflows that flies.

Applying Process Mining in your Dynamics 365 Business Central projects

Process mining is a family of techniques to support the analysis of operational processes based on event logs. The goal of process mining is to turn event data into insights and actions.
Process mining allows you to take the event data from your system of records and visualize the processes happening in your organization. Microsoft Power Automate has a new process mining feature (currently in preview) that you can use to start analyzing your business processes.
What about Dynamics 365 Business Central? How can we use process mining for monitoring our ERP processes like financials, manufacturing and so on? Can Process Mining be useful also for analyzing Business Central telemetries?
In this session we’ll see how we can practically use these new Power Automate features for improving the organization and the analysis experience of our Dynamics 365 Business Central business processes and more and I will show you something that you don’t know it will be possible in the BC ERP world.

Telemetries: Real life tips from the field

I’m absolutely happy to be in this session with my “partner in crime” Duilio, I’m sure it will be fun.

Instrumenting applications with telemetries have been one of the biggest investments in the cloud by Microsoft, turning into a win-win solution in the short term. Applied to Dynamics 365 Business Central, there is a vast plethora of signals that could and should be correlated to resolve issues reactively and even proactively. Join this session to hear about real life scenarios where to apply telemetry analysis for troubleshooting and observability purposes. In this session we’ll also talk about new features for monitoring Power Automate workflows. What you will learn, we bet will be ready to be applied in your daily job.

Directions EMEA will be for sure an exciting event also this year. I’m waiting for you in Lyon in one of these sessions or around for a chat, a pic, a beer… We’ll have fun for sure!
