The Ribbon (the new menu that you can find on every Office 2007 product) has made a consistent revolution in the standard Office user interface. The Ribbon has borned with a main target: helping people to increase their productivity when using Microsoft Office (but not only...). With the Ribbon, you've always on your desktop the function that you need to perform a certain task, without opening too many menus.
However, I can see that the Ribbon divides people: someone loves it and someone hates it.
Someone loves it because it's so nice, it permits you to have the feature for the right scope quickly ready to use. Someone hates it, because they think it's not so intuitive and (the main reason I can see around) because they know how to reach a certain feature automatically with the old Office menu. With the Ribbon, they have to spend more time on searching for a feature...
What do you think about the Ribbon? Microsoft has reached the target or not?
The Ribbon change a lot the way of work and its impact falls a lot expecially on people that are certainly not IT experts (I'm thinking about secretaries or similar).
Personally, I love the new user interface and I think that soon we could see this type of UI also on developer tools like Visual Studio (why not for the final release of Orcas)? Do you love this idea or not?
